When designing this space model, my original intention was to create a modern Chinese-style reception and dining space full of oriental charm, hospitality etiquette and elegance. This space can be used for family gatherings and high-end business banquets, carrying a restrained and elegant social atmosphere.
I chose a lot of wooden elements as the main tone of the space, from the wall to the ceiling, and then to the furniture, all maintaining a unified material language. The warm wood color not only makes the space more friendly, but also naturally conveys the aesthetic pursuit of “gentleness, courtesy, frugality and modesty” in oriental culture.

In terms of layout, I divided the space into a reception and leisure area on the left and a round table dining area on the right. In the sofa area on the left, I used a simple wooden frame combined with light-colored cushions, and matched it with ink fan paintings and metal fan-shaped wall decorations to create an atmosphere of “movement in stillness, elegance and fun”. This is where guests sit and chat, and they need to be calm and comfortable.
The large round table in the middle is the core of the entire space. I insist on using the “circular” structure because it symbolizes reunion and harmony in Chinese culture. I carefully selected each backrest chair to echo the overall material style, while making the seated people feel respected and equal. The table layout adopts fresh and elegant colors, and the yellow flower art is embellished in the middle, injecting a touch of agility and vitality into the overall space.
In terms of wall design, I continued the treatment of blank space and artistic conception. The landscape mural on the right presents the scenery of distant mountains in a light ink smudged way. I want to use this stroke to make people feel “sitting and watching the mountains, drinking and forgetting the dust” after the banquet.
I set the overall lighting softly and restrained. The main light uses a multi-point chandelier, like a beam of scattered starlight, which not only illuminates the round table, but also embellishes the layers of the ceiling. I hope that this light will not only warm the food on the table, but also warm the communication and relationship between each other.
This is not only a spatial model, but also a presentation of a cultural attitude. I want people to walk in here and feel the oriental demeanor of courtesy, tranquility and beauty without words.
