The 5 Kinds of Relationship

Yes, there are only five kinds of relationship that any of us ever engage in.
The are:

  1. Master-Slave: This is where one dominates the other and takes without giving much if anything in return. Many marriages devolve into this.
  2. Friend-Friend: This kind of relationship is driven by mutual respect and trust.
  3. Parent-Child: Similar to the Master-Slave relationship except here the parent wants only the best for the child.
  4. Commited: This is a relationship where both commit to fulfilling certain goals or commitments. For example, to raise children.
  5. Magical-Romantic: This is the kind of relationship we have when we say we are "head over heels in love." It is the kind of relationship most couples want.

Most relationships combine some degree of all five types in them. In any single relationship the dominant type may change from day to day or even minute to minute. However, there is always one that predominates the relationship.
